Poem for the Grand Canyon
By Dickie Lee

Means to make sure everything is positively taken care of and all that.
The Grand Canyon is big
it used to be small and now it is big
It is brown and sandy colored
There's a Colorado River there
I will be there for two and a half weeks
and I won't be back until after Labor Day
The other side of the Grand Canyon is called a bowling alley
where you can knock down all your bowling pins
and you know there is gonna be some people making strikes
and make sure no more bowling balls on shelves
Take those shelves and toss them into a ring of fire.

Further thoughts on the Grand Canyon:

I'd like to take a vacation to the Grand Canyon—a stylish National Park. I ain't been there in a long time. I'm glad Sara found me my wallet on the van about a month ago. I gave it to Terri and she and Athena misplaced it for me. At the Grand Canyon lives bears, pigs, cows, lions and giraffes. I would like to ride a donkey down, all the way would be all right.

I just thought about it and got there. The first thing I would do is ride a donkey first and then ride a merry-go-round. Hike around the lake. You use traveling money, when you go traveling you know what to do. You just go traveling. I have $20 traveling money.

I want to see a clear blue sky and I would like to take some nice pictures of myself. And then I'm going swimming in the ocean at the Grand Canyon where all the waves live. I won't drown myself—I'm going to make some nice bubbles. When I get through swimming, I'm going to take my time brushing my teeth and wash my face and hands and make sure I do it good. Stylish National Parks.
